Generic's FTP Site

Generic Compositors, your source for quality typesetting, layout, and full service of one-color books for academic, college, professional, reference, and trade markets, brings you a site for the transfer of files to Generic.

  • Files to be downloaded can be gotten from this site if you know the exact file name. There are two files there for you to download if you want to test the system. They are testdos.zip and testmos.sea; the former is in MSWord for Windows compressed with ZipIt; the second is MSWord for Mac compressed with Stuffit as a self-extracting archive. To retrieve either file, use the FTP site address plus the file name:

    http://www.genericcomp.com/ftp/pub/testdos.zip
    http://www.genericcomp.com/ftp/pub/testmos.sea

  • Files can be uploaded to this FTP switching site with your browser (e.g., Netscape Navigator or MicroSoft Explorer). After you click on this spot, you will be in Generic's FTP window. Then, go to "upload file" under your browser's file menu, navigate through your desktop to the file you want to upload, and click on "open."

Please let us know when you upload a file so that we can collect it.

For further information, please email us email us . Please include your name, affiliation, and areas of interest, and we will get back to you quickly.
